Open corridors along these arterials act as wind tunnels, with corner lots facing these roads seeing 2–3× deeper drifts than interior streets.

The Fisk Creek and pond systems create a distinct refreeze hazard. Rapid Chinook thaws send meltwater pooling along low-lying pathways near Fisk Creek Park, freezing into sheet ice overnight on adjacent sidewalks and driveway aprons. North-facing driveways – common on east-west streets along the northern and southern boundaries – stay in shadow for 6–8 hours in winter, creating persistent black-ice patches that don't melt until late afternoon. We plan extra time for these shaded zones and bring targeted de-icing equipment to handle the creek community's unique freeze-thaw cycle.
